Water World

Blue skies overhead, the surf rises and
I park at the Venice jetty to watch surfers
prepare to ride.
Now that I no longer live in Venice,
this unknown boarder is a symbol of my
once-watery world of rocks and waves.

On  a brighter day, the waves crash against the rocks
while my thoughts turn to the loss of our
beloved pastor who died of leukemia.
